Usually dengue is a disease of monsoon but now dengue infection is occurring in winter, summer and monsoon.

What are the symptoms of dengue fever:

Dengue fever is generally of 2 types - classical and hemorrhagic and when dengue becomes severe it is called 'dengue shock syndrome'. Now let's know the symptoms-

1. Classical dengue fever:

Generally, in classical dengue fever, there is high fever (up to 100-104 degrees) and severe headache. Sometimes fever can come back after sweating. Apart from this, there is pain in the muscles, pain behind the eyes. Excessive fatigue and loss of appetite. Within 4-5 days of fever, a red rash appears on the body.

2. Dengue hemorrhagic fever:
Dengue virus damages the blood vessels of the body due to which blood platelets decrease and due to which blood falls from different parts of the body such as nose, mouth, gums, subcutaneous hemorrhage, hemoptysis, blood can come with urine and stool. Many times the water comes to the chest and back and the liver gets affected and gives complications like jaundice.

Dengue Shock Syndrome:
The worst form of dengue fever is 'Dengue Shock Syndrome'. The patient suddenly experiences a drop in blood pressure, rapid breathing, chills, reduced urination, rapid pulse and loss of consciousness. In this case, the patient may die.

What to do in case of dengue:

No medicine has been discovered for dengue fever so far and in most cases dengue fever can be cured by home remedies. Oral paracetamol and syrup should be given to children, adequate water and liquid intake should be given. For example, lemon juice, fruit juice, canned water should be consumed. Adequate rest should be taken. Foods that increase platelets like nuts, yogurt, green tea, broccoli, spinach, currants should be eaten.

Liquid food in the early stages
In the early stages of dengue, eat liquid rather than solid food. Because the body can take liquid food easily and dehydration is also removed. Generally, if you have dengue, you should drink at least two and a half to three liters of water throughout the day. Many people do not want to drink water when they have fever, so fruit juice/juice (homemade), vegetable and chicken soup, lemon water etc. can be taken to meet the water requirement.

To maintain electrolyte balance in the body
Orsaline should always be mixed with 500 ml of water. We often do not measure properly. As a result, dehydration increases instead of going away. Orsaline should always be mixed with half a liter of water. Besides, it is necessary to drink plenty of fluids like fruit juices, soups and bottled water along with a bland diet to maintain the balance of electrolytes in the body.

Increase platelets

Remember, maintaining balance of electrolytes and platelets is important in case of dengue. To increase it, you can follow these tips:
# Spinach is needed to increase iron in the body.
# Broccoli, pomegranate and spinach contain vitamin K to increase platelets.
# Papaya leaves are rich in papain and chymopapain enzymes, which aid digestion, relieve bloating and other digestive problems. Many researchers have found that papaya leaves play an important role in fighting dengue. Especially the role of this leaf in increasing the platelet count is many.
# Goat's milk is better than cow's milk.
# Turmeric generally acts as an anti-septic.
# Fenugreek is useful in reducing aches and pains.
# Beetroot soup is rich in vitamin B12 and other minerals.
# Black grapes are good for increasing blood. Contains lots of anti-oxidants. You can feed this fruit to a dengue patient at any time.

Remedy from dengue:

To prevent the spread of mosquitoes, water should not be allowed to accumulate around the house and the surroundings of the house should be kept clean as much as possible. Flower tubs, vases, abandoned car tires should be cleaned, unused pots and tins should be removed. Before going to bed at night, you must pull the mosquito net and sleep. However, mosquito coils, sprays or mosquito repellent chemicals can be used. Children should wear long sleeves, socks and shoes to protect against mosquito bites. Nets can be used on windows. A dengue patient should always be kept inside a mosquito net, so that no mosquito can bite the patient. So we all need to be more aware about dengue without neglecting it.

A doctor should be consulted immediately if any of the warning signs occur.
